Find answers to some of the questions you may have regarding Rescue Tails Animal Sanctuary here. We’ve addressed some of the most common ones below, but if something isn’t clear please feel free to contact us! We’ll be happy to assist you in any way possible.
Is your organization transparent?
Rescue Tails Animal Sanctuary has achieved a gold badge for transparency from GuideStar - an non-profit watchdog organization that exists to track and hold non-profit organizations accountable in their methods and accounting. We are proud to have achieved our gold badge for 2023, and we will continue to strive to maintain it for years to come. We are fully committed to remaining entirely transparent as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, as all non-profits should be.
How much of my donation directly supports the cause?
All donations are fully committed to directly supporting Rescue Tails Animal Sanctuary. We use the donations we are given to feed, house, and care for the animals at our sanctuary, as well as to ensure our dedicated staff are paid for their hard work and passion caring for all rescues on site. We will also use donations to spread outreach and education at times, ensuring that we are teaching people everywhere about the importance of animal welfare and ensuring animals everywhere have the best chance at a safe, happy life.
What is the minimum age to volunteer?
Our volunteers come in a few tiers. Volunteers 18 years and older need only fill out a volunteer application and wait to be notified of orientation and training.
Volunteers aged 16-18 will need a signed parental consent form and a release from liability form in order to be allowed to volunteer without parental presence on site. All parties will need to fill out volunteer applications and attend orientation and training, as well as parents or guardians needing to sign consent and release from liability forms.
Volunteers under the age of 16 are welcome as long as they have a parent or legal guardian present at all times. Parents or guardians will need to fill out volunteer applications and attend orientation and training, as well as sign consent and release from liability forms.
